They're helped by local artist, Bill Ding, who makes them a nice sign for the stand, and by Little Dazzy Donuts, who helps with the wheelbarrow. Along the way, Little Dazzy Donuts reads three poems about our salad days, being in a pickle, and the joys of a squeaky wheelbarrow.
This week, Queenie and Chicken are interviewed by local radio DJs, Tom and Art, for their drive-time show, and talk all about the current competition and their vegetable garden. They also get a guided tour of the radio station, and come back with a special gift for Little Dazzy Donuts. Along the way, Little Dazzy Donuts reads three poems about fifteen seconds of fame, an answer machine, and a radio.
This week, Queenie and Chicken plan a treasure hunt to brighten Sammy Showers' birthday, using walkie-talkies to give clues and stay in touch. Hopefully, Sammy finds his birthday treasure and special cupcake. Along the way, Little Dazzy Donuts reads three poems about blowing out birthday candles, a birthday party for one, and the fun of using a walkie-talkie. 10-4. Roger. Over!
Join us for this bonus episode as Little Dazzy Donuts, Queenie and Chicken wrap up the Summer competition, and decide on the topic for the Autumn/Fall competition. They are helped along the way by a lovely note from Hedgehog, and by four poets reading out their own poems: Cali and Amilah from the U.K., Amogh from the United States, and Bavneet from Malaysia. The whole experience leads them to decide on a wonderful new topic for the competition, and make the official announcement.
This week, Queenie invites her friends around to the Club for a cooking class to make a dinner and dessert. Surely nothing can go wrong when everyone is making one of two meals that sound similar? Fortunately, Queenie may just save the day by inventing a new fusion cuisine. Along the way, Little Dazzy Donuts reads three poems about somebody's cooking specialty, eating family-style, and doing Spring cleaning.
This week, the Club hosts the awards ceremony for the Summer 2020 competition, where over thirty poets from around the world are celebrated as Finalists, and eight poets and artists are announced as competition Winners. We hear from all of the Finalists, and Little Dazzy Donuts reads out the winning poems with help from Donna Worry, Sammy Showers, Bill Ding, and Chef Katie Currant. Along the way, the Chicken Quartet impress with their smooth jazz sounds, and Queenie ensures that everything stays on track.
Join us for this bonus episode as Queenie and Chicken prepare the Club for the awards ceremony by putting out the chairs, red carpet, and sheep assembly area before they all head off for ice cream. While they work, Little Dazzy Donuts plays poems from Ireland, India, England, Wales, and the United States, with five poets reading their entries into the Summer competition on the topic of Home: Betsy, Alice, Keelin, Ashritha, and Veruschka.
This week, Queenie and Chicken enter Chicken's dog into a fun competition to raise money for dog rescue. Her dog wasn't quite what the competition organizers were expecting, but seems perfect for one of the categories and looks a hot favorite to win! Unless, of course, something… or someone… gets in the way. While Queenie and Chicken prepare for the competition, Little Dazzy Donuts reads three poems about a nibbling dog, a couple with too many dogs, and a really unusual dog show.
