In Episode 8, we talk about traditional Indigenous medicines and practices like smudging. I also share a special story about my granny.
In Episode 7, we talk about a very special place: Turtle Island. We also hear a tiny bit of the Anishinabek story about Turtle Island from Niigaan Sinclair – a well-known Anishinabek educator.
In Episode 6, we talk about our very special relatives: trees! Trees are very important to our health and well-being on planet earth.
In Episode 5, we get to talk to warrior scientist Dr. David Suzuki about how important it is to work together with Indigenous peoples to protect the health of all living things on the planet!
In Episode 4, we talk about native pow wows as an important part of celebrating native culture. We also get to learn about the meaning of the Jingle Dress Dance from Celia Wilson of St. Mary’s First Nation in New Brunswick.
In Episode 3, we get to talk to one of my very favorite people – Dr. Cindy Blackstock! She works with a very famous teddy bear named Spirit Bear to make sure that governments treat all kids fairly.
In Episode 2, we talk about Indigenous identity and all the different words used to describe native peoples, like Aboriginal, First Nation, Inuit and Metis.
In Episode 1, we talk about what you can expect from our Warrior Kids Podcast. We are an interactive podcast that is a celebration of everything Indigenous! We want to share Indigenous cultures and values so that kids can learn about what it means to be strong, healthy and compassionate warriors for themselves, their families, their communities and Nations.
