We’ll start by explaining the history and origins of Kwanzaa, including how it was founded by Dr. Maulana Karenga as a way to honor African-American culture and heritage. We’ll also explore the seven principles of Kwanzaa, which include unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith.
By the end of the episode, young listeners will have a better understanding of the rich cultural traditions and values that are celebrated during Kwanzaa. They’ll have learned about the history, customs, and meaning behind this important holiday, and will be inspired to explore their own family traditions and cultural heritage.
