There are 170 episodes in the Poetry topic.

These are the latest episodes from the Poetry topic added to soundcarrot, but be careful, many of these are serialised shows so jumping in at episode 10, for example, could confuse matters.

We'd recommend starting with the first episode of your show of choice, and if you like it, listening from there.

The Rising Bun
00:16:10 | Season: 1 | Episode: 58 | October 12th, 2020

This week, Little Dazzy Donuts brings pastries into the Club to share while everyone reads the local newspaper, The Weekly Bugle. The big news story is on Page 6, and it prompts Queenie to write a short piece for the paper on why she's grateful for her favorite bakery. To prepare, she chats with Judy and Bread-maker Ronnie from the bakery, and Little Dazzy Donuts reads three poems about different types of food, bread, and it being "news to me".   We love hearing from you!

The "Thank You" Concert
00:18:13 | Season: 1 | Episode: 56 | October 5th, 2020

This week, Queenie and Chicken are planning a special "thank you" concert in the garden to thank everyone who helped them during the Summer. However, a member of the famous Chicken Jazz Quartet is taken ill. Perhaps the timing is right for Queenie to step up with her skills on the triangle, aided by the expert advice of Lady Day, from the Jazz Brunch Show on the local radio. Along the way, Little Dazzy Donuts reads three poems about an unexpected music lesson, joining a band, and a music pioneer.   We love hearing from you!

The Fishing Trip
00:16:24 | Season: 1 | Episode: 55 | September 28th, 2020

This week, Queenie and Chicken are fishing on the riverbank using quite unusual bait that seems guaranteed to make the fish smile. They pass the time finding non-answers to burning questions, as well as by enjoying their thermos of tea. Plus, Queenie has packed a hamper of yummy goodies, leveraging her grandma's recipes. As they all enjoy the scenery, Little Dazzy Donuts reads three poems about the one that got away, a fish band, and something you can take to the bank.

Bonus Kids' Poems – Carrot Cake
00:18:15 | Season: 1 | Episode: 54 | September 24th, 2020

Join us for this bonus episode as Queenie and Chicken use their spare carrots to make carrot cakes to thank their friends for all they do to help them. That said, they actually don't know how to make carrot cakes. Still, that won't stop them from using their great carrots, with a little help from Chef Katie Currant. Along the way. Little Dazzy Donuts plays poems from China, India, and the United States, with four poets reading their entries into the Autumn/Fall competition on the topic of Gratitude: Turanya, Urvashi, Varsha, and Xinyue.

Queenie's Players
00:17:34 | Season: 1 | Episode: 53 | September 21st, 2020

This episode is dedicated to the wonderful people who work in theaters around the world, and who have been impacted by the COVID pandemic. We miss you and the joy you bring into our lives, and can’t wait for your return!  In the episode, Queenie and Chicken hear the news that the local theater's December show is being cancelled, and so decide to put on their own show instead. They think through possible actors, and start work on the plot, before realizing that they had forgotten the most important part of any theatrical performance! Along the way, they are helped by Chef Katie Currant, and by Little Dazzy Donuts, who reads three poems about taking the stage, dreaming of being an actor, and acting strange.

Pond Squad
00:16:48 | Season: 1 | Episode: 52 | September 14th, 2020

This week, Queenie and Chicken build a pond next to their wildflower garden, and learn from Hedgehog about how to make sure that a pond or pool is safe for creatures. To spread the word to others, they engage the help of local DJs, Tom and Art, and then make their services available to help install ramps for hedgehogs. Along the way, Little Dazzy Donuts reads three poems about a modest fish, pond world, and a peaceful pond.
