Sep 21 was H.G.Wells' birthday and we look at the works he has created, in this episode. When he wrote his works of science fiction, little may he have imagined that he was going to inspire generations of authors and children. Marvel and DC characters are richer thanks to the elements of science fiction woven into them – whether it is Iron Man's tech-fired suit or the ability of the Avengers to time travel. The Magic Tree House series of books takes its young protagonists on trips through both space and time. In this episode, a 11-year old bookworm – Vedant from Singapore, explains why he think H.G.Wells wrote some of his bizarre science fiction stories, and about the author's socialist ideals.
