Welcome back to The Puffin Library of Made-Up Things for a very special episode! This episode will take us on a thrilling adventure with Peter Rabbit in his favourite garden, all inspired by Rachel Bright’s book, ‘Peter Rabbit: Head over Tail’. In this episode, Peter has indulged a little too much in delicious vegetables and fruits – so Rachel, Baba, and our adventurous Puffineers Tylan and Darcey don their gardening hats and use one of Peter’s nifty inventions to replant the yummy produce. You won’t believe what our motley crew get up to in the process!
Get ready for an amazing adventure with Mission Imagination. With the summer holidays just around the corner, we’re back for a special episode with one of the world’s most well-loved characters, Peter Rabbit!
This week’s episode is the final one for this series of Mission Imagination. We’ve been to some amazing worlds and today is no different, as we welcome author Sharna Jackson to the podcast! Sharna is the author of the brilliant book ‘The Good Turn’, in which Josie has set up a scout group called the Copsey’s who get rewarded with badges for going on adventures and doing good deeds around her town. Sharna drives our Puffineers to the Old Car Factory, a run-down building that used to be the talk of the town. Our Pufineers have the chance to earn four Copsey badges for completing tasks around the factory, but there’s just one problem…if our Puffineers turn on the factory lights at any point during their tasks, they will alert a terrifying woman: Josie’s mum! If she knows they’re in the factory, our Puffineers will be in a whole world of trouble.
Today’s story is the penultimate episode in this series of Mission Imagination. We welcome author Lee Newbery, the author of ‘The Last Firefox’, to the podcast! Cadno the firefox has been hiding out in Wales. He’s the last firefox left and is being sought after by the King of Fargon. The King has hired an evil Grendilock to kidnap Cadno, so our Puffineers have been asked to be his trusted guardians at the Bryncastell summer fete. To protect Cadno, the Puffineers must ensure one thing: that Cadno is kept calm. If he gets too excited he can set on fire, which may alert the fearsome Grendilock…
Joining us on Mission Imagination this week are Sam Copeland and Jenny Pearson, authors of ‘Tuchus & Topps Investigate: The Underpants of Chaos’. All’s not well at Little Strangehaven Primary. SHIVERS are going around the school making weird things happen: people have grown beards, the school has lost all gravity and chickens have been shooting eggs everywhere! Top spy-detectives from the school, Lenny and Agatha, have set our Puffineers a mission to work out what’s behind these mysterious SHIVERS. However the Puffineers must keep their mission TOP SECRET. No one in the school can know what they’re up to, especially not the suspicious headmaster of Little Strangehaven Primary, Dr Errno….
This week on Mission Imagination, we are joined by author of the Lottie Brooks series, Katie Kirby! Katie takes our Puffineers to Lottie Brooks’ Imaginary School of Fun and Frappuccinos, and as you can probably tell from the name, this isn’t any old school. Lessons include skateboarding, TikTok dancing and art classes where unicorns are the life models! You can also eat and drink anything you like in the school canteen, so why not try a deliciously frothy fairy dust and carrot frappuccino with extra popping candy? There’s just one rule to follow to keep this school fun; as nicely as they ask, do not feed the unicorns any of your frappuccino…
Our first guest of the new series is Tamzin Merchant, author of the brilliant books ‘The Hatmakers and ‘The Mapmakers’. Tamzin transports us to a secret world of magical makers, where ordinary items like hats, musical instruments and maps are given extra special magic! The only problem is that the evil Lord Witloof hates magic and is burning all that he can get his hands on. It’s clear that Tamzin needs the help of our trio to stop him in his tracks and together, they need to find all the ingredients to brew up the perfect storm. Can they stop Lord Witloof in time?!
Inspired by Adam Hills’ Rockstar Detectives book, Jollywood takes our listeners on a VIP experience. Drawing magic from Adam’s debut novel, host Baba and Puffineers Tylan and Darcey set out to explore everything this world has to offer. From cat cafés to hidden talents, arrive in this world in style and expect the celebrity treatment. But as usual, you have to keep to the rules of the land, or things might start to get a little funky. Expect friends, fun and adventure in this jam-packed and immersive episode of Mission Imagination by Puffin.
