Macho Needs an Oven
0:17:28 | Season: 1 | Episode: 21 | May 30th, 2020

This week in The Imagine Neighborhood, Scotty and Macho Supreme need to find a solution to their problem: Macho needs an extra oven to bake a humongous batch of cookies for Nana Supreme’s birthday. But Scotty needs this oven to stay in his house because… well, because it’s his oven! But when Macho comes over and rips the oven out of the wall, he and Scotty will need to talk about different ways to ask for the things you want and what happens when you don’t get them. Macho finds a great way to ask, complete with macho poses, and even discovers a great way to feel better if he’s disappointed by the answer! In this episode, we’re talking about how to ask respectfully for what you want and need ‒ and how to accept when the answer is no. Scotty and Macho Supreme practice asking for what they want: they take a deep breath and ask in a calm, respectful voice. It’s totally okay to feel bummed out if you don’t get the answer you want, but there’s always a good way to handle that feeling, too!For the rest of our season, we’re sharing daily activities that align with each episode of The Imagine Neighborhood. Head over to ImagineNeighborhood.org and check out our Emotion Experiments with Dr. Sherri and Music Corner with Mr. Music Man Lindsay Jones! If you had a lot of fun doing one of the activities or you’ve created your own drawing of one of The Imagine Neighborhood characters, send it in to be shared on our Infinite Refrigerator. You can even show off your own glamour flex pose! Follow along on our Instagram page to see what other listeners send in.

Under a large umbrella (rain and thunder)
13:19 | Episode: 10 | May 18th, 2020

Inside this umbrella the raindrops sound amazing. A summer rainstorm is passing over East London and there’s some gently crumpling thunder that opens up the vastness of the sky. It’s a late evening in June, it’s going dark. It’s a lovely thing to just stand in the garden and listen to the atmosphere.
