There are 1745 episodes in the Nature topic.

These are the latest episodes from the Nature topic added to soundcarrot, but be careful, many of these are serialised shows so jumping in at episode 10, for example, could confuse matters.

We'd recommend starting with the first episode of your show of choice, and if you like it, listening from there.

96 A blustery day begins on inland tidal water (headphones)
41:58 | Episode: 96 | December 4th, 2021

When we set up to record, there were no signs of the weather front. It was late evening. Low tide. We’d followed the path East along the river out of Burnham-on-Crouch and come across a Second World War armament, a pillbox, overgrown and derelict, beside the footpath. A lookout, that now, and for the last seventy years, has looked and been looking out on nothing more than the to and fro of the tides. Further along we saw a railing sloping steeply down the seawall, and into the water.

00:14:40 | Episode: 15 | December 3rd, 2021

On his private space station high above Earth, Professor Burkhead has begun conducting a ground-breaking social experiment. Each week, his “Unifier” pairs together two unlikely creatures and puts them in a room together where the two subjects (an accountant and a giant squid, one week; a porcupine and a ballerina the next, etc) talk, debate, get to know each other, and maybe learn something new about themselves in the process.

S4 E9: Adelia Goodwin’s Secret Journal – A Test of Knowledge
00:10:42 | Season: 4 | Episode: 9 | December 2nd, 2021

In this exciting episode Emma gets challenged to prove that she is who she says she is, by a participating in a test of animal trivia questions. Should be easy, right?

Bonus: Drunk Flies and Stoned Dolphins (With Dr. Oné R. Pagán)
01:08:38 | Season: 2 | Episode: 54 | December 1st, 2021

This is a recording of Oné R. Pagán's book launch for "Drunk Flies and Stoned Dolphins" where a tipsy Melissa asks him about cocaine addiction in flatworms, "bouncer bees" who decapitate drunk bees coming back to the hive, a few side tracks into pjs and tattoos, then circling back to stoned dolphins, spiders on LSD, phobias, and misadventures in web-based randomizers.  His incredible research is improving how we understand addiction in humans.

121: Nine-banded Armadillo w/ Carly Haywood!
00:52:10 | Episode: 121 | December 1st, 2021

Join Ellen & special guest Carly Haywood for a review of the scaly, pig-snouted friends of the underbrush: nine-banded armadillos! In this episode, we discuss whether you should be afraid of getting leprosy from an armadillo, what “pancaking” is and why they do it, and little tiny clone parades scuttling through the underbrush.

S3, Ep. 4 – More Sharing, Less Overbearing
00:30:58 | Season: 3 | Episode: 4 | November 29th, 2021

Welcome to the fourth episode of Ask Deer Abby, Season Three! Abby and Hopper are thrilled to be offering advice (and puns) to some brand new animal friends. First up, we’ve got – wait a second.. is this a personal call? It’s Hopper’s brother, Flopper! Turns out that Flopper has been feeling a little overshadowed by his brother’s success as a producer. Let’s hope that Abby can teach these rambunctious rabbits about taking pride in their own successes, while also remembering to celebrate each other’s. Next up, it’s Sergio, a swan who’s wife is upset with him because he keeps pecking at humans! Hopefully Abby can give these love birds some advice that will get them back to marital bliss. Later on, we’ll bring in some animal experts to answer the question on everyone’s mind: “What’s one of the most surprising animal friendships to ever be discovered?” Thanks again for listening, and as always, if you’ve got a problem just stop on by, and we’ll say “Hi” at Ask Deer Abby!

Ep 53: Who's Your Daddy?
00:37:17 | Season: 2 | Episode: 54 | November 29th, 2021

Melissa addresses  sex changing animals who can do it all, condors who have had enough of their male cage mates, lesbian lizards, proposes a Finding Nemo #3, and the myth of the sexual binary.
