There are 1745 episodes in the Nature topic.

These are the latest episodes from the Nature topic added to soundcarrot, but be careful, many of these are serialised shows so jumping in at episode 10, for example, could confuse matters.

We'd recommend starting with the first episode of your show of choice, and if you like it, listening from there.

00:18:29 | Season: 6 | Episode: 14 | April 30th, 2021

Can viruses live in space? That’s what our listener Julian wants to know. It turns out, that’s a question that scientists are asking, too! Kathryn Bywaters is one of the scientists starting the search for viruses in space. She believes that finding viruses might be the easiest way to discover life on other planets. But first, we have to learn more about what a virus is, and how to find them. Discover why viruses are like the “message in a bottle” of alien life, and how you could become a real life alien virus hunter on Mars.

Welcome to the fourth episode of Ask Deer Abby, Season Two! Abby and Hopper are thrilled to be offering advice (and puns) to some brand new animal friends. First up, we’ve got a Narwhal named Norman who’s hoping to Nar-fall in love, but no matter how hard he tries, he can’t seem to connect with anyone! Let’s hope matchmaker Abby can “find him a find, and catch him a catch.” Next, we’ll be checking-in with a beloved friend from Season One, the one and only Ginger Snap! Ginger Snap has recently taken-up competitive jumping, but try as she may, she can’t seem to win a trophy. Hopefully Abby can help clear-up Ginger Snap’s vision problems so that she can CLEAR the competition! Later on, we’ll bring in some animal experts to answer the question on everyone’s mind: Why do giraffes have spots?! Thanks again for listening, and as always, if you’ve got a problem just stop on by, and we’ll say “Hi” at Ask Deer Abby!

Waiting for skylarks at the Rye Harbour nature reserve
23:08 | Episode: 64 | April 24th, 2021

If I sit here, very still, so as not to scare the water birds, might they come back? I hope so. They’ve wheeled away again, like they do. It’s their drifting altitudinous song that I most want to hear. Sparse clouds are hurrying by. When the sun is out, it’s surprisingly strong. It makes the air smell of warm grass. A sea breeze is blowing. Swishing in, from left to right through the tall stems. This spot is only a few hundred yards from the crashing waves of the sea, but a steep shingle ridge softens the sound into almost nothing.

In this episode, we discuss what we can learn about life from sea turtles, why it’s so important to be kind to our beaches, and how we can all make the shores a little friendlier to the wildlife that we love.
